CityNet Special Advisor Mary Jane Ortega presented the Network’s programs and new directions at the Asia Foundation’s ‘Asian Approaches to Development Cooperation (AADC)’ dialogue series on May 11-12, 2017 in Manila, the Philippines.

The AADC Dialogue is an invite-only event bringing together development experts and government officials in Asia to discuss and share thematic perspectives to enrich the Foundation’s program directions. The Manila event focused on the ‘Role of Development and South-South Cooperation in Implementing the New Urban Agenda’.

Speaking before The Foundation’s country directors and key regional policy makers, Ortega underscored that city networks like CityNet can easily facilitate city to city cooperation while ensuring urban solutions to development challenges are shared among its members. ‘CityNet will provide an enabling environment for its members to strengthen partnerships with international development partners and private sector towards a more sustainable Asian-inspired model of urbanization’, she added.
