End of Year Strategic Networking Session

CityNet hosted a year-end event, End of Year Strategic Networking Session, on 10 December 2018. It was attended by 40 local government officials from Korean cities, heads of relevant local organizations / partners, and other CityNet local members.

The networking session was organized in order to provide the opportunity to encourage Korean cities to become members of CityNet and promote the organization on the domestic level. Through the event, CityNet was able to reach out to more local government officials and identify potential areas of collaboration for the future events. This enabled the Korean city officials to gain insight into the overall value, purpose, and benefits of CityNet, as well as to get an idea of potential membership.

CityNet Assistant Secretary General Kang Pil Young welcomed all participants at Seoul Citizen Hall. It was then followed by a lecture on the International Organizations and Urban Diplomacy by Dr. Byungha Lee from the University of Seoul.

During the event, the achievements of the year was highlighted. CityNet Director of Programs Youngmin Chang narrated the successes of CityNet in 2018. After addressing the achievements, CityNet Program Officer Rina Chanrhan Hwang explained the online the Urban SDG Knowledge Platform concept and content.
