44th Executive Committee Meeting, graciously hosted by Iloilo City Government

The 44th Executive Committee meeting of CityNet took place from 18 to 20 November in Iloilo City, Philippines. The meeting was graciously hosted by Executive Committee member Iloilo City, under the leadership of Mayor Jerry Treñas and Vice Mayor Jeffrey Ganzon. This year’s meeting centred on the theme, “Living the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): A Shared Future for All”. CityNet extends its deepest gratitude to Iloilo City, Mayor Jerry Treñas, and Vice Mayor Jeffrey Ganzon for their exceptional hospitality and contributions to the event, which provided a memorable experience for all attendees.

The Executive Committee meeting is a cornerstone of CityNet’s governance, serving as a forum for legislative decision-making and fostering collaboration among members.

3-day Programme

The three-day programme blends structured discussions with events on the side to share knowledge.

  • Day 1: The 45th Session of the Executive Committee Meeting.
  • Day 2: The CityNet-UNESCAP SDG Awards Ceremony celebrated member cities’ exceptional contributions toward achieving the SDGs. This was followed by an international seminar featuring insights from urban development experts and city leaders.
  • Day 3: The final day included specialised sessions, such as “The Role of Housing in Achieving SDGs: A Pathway to Resilient Cities,” hosted by Habitat for Humanity. The day concluded with site visits in Iloilo City, showcasing innovative urban initiatives.
