CityNet Visits Incheon City International Affairs Office

Following the meeting with the UNESCAP East and North-East Asia (UNESCAP-ENEA) office on March 7th, CityNet visited the International Affairs Office in Songdo, Incheon, where they met with Byungjin Yu and Elena Cho, officers from the Americas & Europe Team within Incheon’s International Affairs Division, to discuss upcoming international initiatives.

The meeting revolved around CityNet’s key programmes for the year, including the 45th ExCom Meeting, 4th SDG City Awards, and the CityNet Korea Members Programme––all of which are to take place in Denasar, Bali. Additionally, Ms. Yu and Ms. Cho shared details about Incheon’s own international initiatives and events, including the Incheon Landing Operation Event. The event is scheduled for September, and Incheon plans to invite countries that participated in the operation to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Incheon Landing during the Korean War.

Looking ahead, Incheon expressed interest in connecting with more European cities, as CityNet had connected them during the CityNet-EU Project. In response, CityNet offered its support, noting that it has new European Associate Members such as Braga and Granada, and will gladly facilitate connections between Incheon and their European counterparts.

As the first quarter of the year comes to an end, CityNet looks forward to Incheon’s leadership and active participation in the upcoming international events.
