Advisory Note on the COVID-19 Situation: Postponement of the 39th ExCom Meeting

The 39th Executive Committee Meeting, originally scheduled from April 23rd to 25th, is now postponed until further notice due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 that has arisen as a huge issue in the Republic of Korea.

The Korean government and Centre for Disease Control and Prevention Korea (KCDC) have already imposed strict precaution measures from airports to local public areas to prevent the epidemic. The Korean government has announced that the Republic of Korea is now on ‘red alert’ which is the highest disease alert due to the rise in new cases. The medical technicians and epidemic control experts are closely cooperating with the Public Health Centre for preventing the further spread of the disease.

With the object of giving priority securing the health and safety for all domestic and international participants and relevant stakeholders, CityNet Secretariat and Jeju Special Self-Governing Provincial Council have reached the conclusion of postponing the 39th Executive Committee Meeting and canceling the 2020 Sustainable Development Jeju International Conference. Once new dates for the Executive Committee Meeting have been determined, the Secretariat will announce to all members and partners with further details.

CityNet Secretariat is constantly monitoring advices and official safety regulations from the relevant authorities and taking all necessary countermeasures to ensure the safety and health of our members and all participants from other countries and regions. We ensure that we are working promptly in line with the national guidelines from the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention Korea. (http://www.cdc.go.kr/cdc_eng/)
