Call for Participants for Urban SDG Knowledge Platform Online Training Course

“How Safe is Your City? A Masterclass on Urban Safety”

(30 May – 17 June, Online)

CityNet, in collaboration with the Think City Institute and Safetipin, is inviting you and your colleagues to participate in the Urban SDG Knowledge Platform online course How Safe is Your City? A Masterclass on Urban Safety beginning 30 May and concluding on 17 June.

The online course is designed to be three-weeks of self-guided study on the development of safe, inclusive, and accessible public spaces. It contains lectures, case study examples, and activities to help participants gain a deeper understanding of the built and social environment of our cities.

The course consists of three modules: 1) Introduction to urban safety 2) Principles of making cities safer, responsive, and equitable 3) Tools and methods for making cities safe.

Participants will be invited to a live kick-off event on Tuesday 30 May to be introduced to the Urban SDG Knowledge Platform online course site and to set course expectations.

Upon completion of the modules, participants will be invited to a live course review session with the instructors on Saturday 17 June. Attending this live session will be a requirement to receive a course certificate.

This is a free and exclusive training course for CityNet members. The course is open to local authorities, city planners, and stakeholders whose work revolves around urban development and safety in their communities. In the case of high interest, registration will be followed by a screening process for course admission.

Registration deadline is Wednesday, 17 May 2023.
