As an Asia-Pacific’s leading network of cities and local governments, CityNet Secretariat demonstrated its strong support for the Seoul Metropolitan Government (SMG) by actively participating as a Network partner in the 2024 Seoul GTSN Forum. Held at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) on Thursday, 27 June 2024, the forum gathered an impressive assembly of city leaders, global scholars, and civil society members to discuss the value of inclusive policies under the theme, “Going Together with the Socially Neglected”, adding value to solidarity with the vulnerable.
From CityNet’s Network, over 40 city representatives, including 10 mayors from Member cities, such as Phonm Penh and Denpasar, joining the forum to learn from Seoul’s policies. The forum provided a unique platform for sharing best practices in inclusive governance and policy benchmarking, further reinforcing CityNet’s commitment to fostering sustainable, inclusive urban environments across the Asia-Pacific.
Through its active involvement, CityNet continues to bridge cities across the region, reinforcing the collective commitment to building cities that prioritize equity and inclusion. Mayor Oh emphasized the significance of these partnerships, expressing hope that more cities worldwide will adopt and expand their efforts to support vulnerable communities.
