SGvisiting

CityNet Secretary General Vijay Jagannathan visited Seoul from June 1-3, 2015. During his stay, he held meetings with the Secretariat Staff, representatives from both Seoul City and Incheon and CityNet’s partners, Green Climate Fund.

The Secretary General was able to share his vision of the Asian Perspectives on Sustainable Urbanisation and to garner support for other CityNet initiatives including CityNet Services and Nepal Disaster Relief. Mr. Jagannathan had particularly productive discussions with Mayor Park of Seoul City who expressed his commitment to building a more sustainable Asia Pacific region.

On his visit to Incheon, Mr Jagannathan was greeted by the Director General Yu of International Relations. As a constantly changing global city, Incheon exerts vital influence in the Asia Pacific region and in CityNet. They discussed how to strengthen Incheon’s role in CityNet and possible areas of future cooperation. Director General Yu shared many of Incheon and Songdo’s Smart City Initiatives.

The CityNet Secretariat was delighted to welcome Mr Jagannathan to Seoul and looks forward to the fruit of these meetings.
