CityNet Services for Thimphu Thromde officers

CityNet Secretariat held a learning workshop on Seoul City’s best practices for local government officers from Thimphu Thromde, Bhutan on September 13-15. 2017.

The five-member senior delegation learned about Seoul city’s solid waste management practices, urban landscape management, traffic road management, and local drainage system.

The three-day learning workshop offered practical snapshots on the tools and processes that were undertaken by some of Seoul’s successful urban development programs. Activity highlights include lectures, site visits and action planning on next steps.

Thimphu officers said they will adopt Seoul’s practices on landscape management and design principles as the city is setting up more public parks and improving their public spaces in the few years to come.

During the awarding ceremony, CityNet Assistant Secretary General Hoiseung Lee hopes that city- to-city technical cooperation between Seoul and Thimphu will be sustained.

Thimphu Thromde’s visit to Seoul City was conducted through the CityNet Services program, a technical cooperation platform exclusive for CityNet members. CityNet Services can be in the form of city-to-city cooperation, technical exchange, and study visits.
