CityNet to hold cities’ exchange on urban resilience

Learn from city peers and experts in Northeast Asia as they manage unprecedented floods, typhoons, and other disasters in their cities and cope with the impact as CityNet organizes an online series on Urban Resilience on December 1 and 3, 2020.

The Urban Resilience Practices from Northeast Asia Lecture Series will showcase successful local urban resilience programmes on cross-cutting themes, such as disaster preparedness, emergency management, and long-term post-disaster recovery. The webinar will also share lessons and inform decision makers and practitioners on common success factors towards understanding and building capacities for urban resilience for cities in the Asia-Pacific.

The first session will feature lectures on climate resilience and flood mitigation. For Session 2, CityNet partners, Yonsei University and Korea Associates Business Consultancy, will report their latest tools that will help enhance urban resilience processes in cities. Finally, Session 3 will feature lectures from Chinese, Japanese, and Korean cities. Session on climate resilience and flood mitigation will feature on Day 1.

The webinar is open to local government officials who work in the field of urban resilience. Academic researchers, civil society and private sector actors who are interested in the field are also encouraged to attend.

Please note that the first session will be presented in Chinese with simultaneous English interpretation. Sessions 2 and 3 will be presented in English, with simultaneous Chinese and Korean interpretation.
